Hereditary colon cancer WARRIOR

My name is Dan Dry Dock Shockley, retired U.S. Navy, Operation Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom veteran and 11 year hereditary colon cancer WARRIOR. Diagnosed with attenuated FAP after my 1st and only colonoscopy at age 51, asymptomatic and no family history. My purpose is to educate the medical students and medical professionals about attenuated FAP, continuing the legacy of Dr. Henry T. Lynch, on the importance of early detection in hopes of saving lives. Attenuated FAP is an autosomal dominant germline mutation, estimated to impact less than 0.03 percent of the global population. My mantra is Always Forge Ahead w/a Purpose, which is a positive spin on a bleak diagnosis.
