Levi Peterson
(She/They)
Resource Coordinator & Patient Advocate
Meet Levi, a 29-year old from South-Central PA. Impacted by Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Behcet’s Disease, and Parkinson’s, Levi has undergone 10 major brain surgeries since their initial diagnosis in 2016.
As a former Firefighter/EMT, Levi gained invaluable firsthand knowledge of the healthcare system that would become the building blocks of both their patient journey and career. This clinical and practical knowledge was instrumental to diagnosing their own conditions when doctors fell short, and also assisting other patients with navigating the healthcare system in the present day.
Levi is currently the Resource Coordinator for The Patient Helpline, sits on the Board of Directors for One Rare, contracts with Medable as a member of the PCN, and lends their voice to podcasts and learning institutions in their free time. With the ultimate goal of decreasing the diagnostic odyssey, Levi is tirelessly working to develop programs to improve the lives and outcomes of those impacted by autoimmune disorders.
